Author Guidelines

Important Notice

Effective from Volume 3, Issue 3 (2026), GREAT adopts the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition as its official citation and reference style. Authors submitting new manuscripts are required to prepare their manuscripts using APA 7th Edition. The previous OSCOLA citation style is no longer accepted for new submissions.

Authors intending to submit manuscripts to GREAT : Global Research in Economics and Advanced Theory are required to comply with the following guidelines:

  1. Manuscripts must be prepared using the official GREAT Journal Template, available on the journal website.

  2. Manuscripts should present original research in the fields of economics, Islamic economics, finance, accounting, business, management, or related disciplines. Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration by another journal.

  3. Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English (British or American English, used consistently throughout the manuscript) or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors are strongly encouraged to use professional language editing services prior to submission.

  4. Manuscripts should be prepared on A4 paper, using Cambria 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing, and follow the formatting requirements specified in the journal template.

  5. The manuscript should contain 5,000–10,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

  6. The title should be concise and informative, consisting of no more than 14 words.

  7. Each manuscript must include:

    • the full name of each author;

    • institutional affiliation;

    • complete correspondence address;

    • ORCID iD (if available);

    • email address of the corresponding author.

  8. A manuscript may have up to six authors (one corresponding author and a maximum of five co-authors).

  9. Each submission must include an abstract of 100–350 words in English. Manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia must additionally provide an abstract in Bahasa Indonesia.

  10. Authors should provide 3–7 keywords that accurately represent the main topics of the manuscript.

  11. Manuscripts must follow the standard structure of a scientific article using the IMRaD format, consisting of:

  • Introduction

  • Methods

  • Results and Discussion

  • Conclusion

  1. GREAT adopts the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition citation and reference style.

  • All citations must appear as author–date in-text citations.

  • All cited works must be listed in the References section in APA 7th Edition format.

  • Footnotes should be used only for additional explanations or supplementary information and must not be used as the primary citation method.

  1. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), OpenOffice (.odt), or Rich Text Format (.rtf).

  2. To promote author diversity, an author who has published an article in a particular issue may submit another manuscript; however, if accepted, it will normally be scheduled for publication in a subsequent issue, subject to editorial consideration.

  3. Manuscripts that do not comply with these Author Guidelines or fail to meet the journal's formatting and ethical standards may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected before the peer-review process.
